Perouges: A Medieval Time Capsule

Perouges is an ancient fortified town in eastern France that has been frozen in time since the Middle Ages. The winding cobblestone streets, half-timbered houses, and sandstone walls transport me to the medieval era. The town's history dates back to the 13th century when it was a center of cloth production. I find it interesting how the town has preserved its buildings and traditions over the centuries. I also appreciate how the town’s layout is designed for the pedestrian experience that encourages walking. I spent hours exploring the town and feeling like I was in a time capsule.
