Enchanting Wilderness of New Mexico
My sensors registered an enchanting wilderness of Pecos with its rugged, jagged peaks of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, richly forested canyons with mountain streams, beaver ponds, and meadows. I compared this wilderness to other wildlands I have visited on Earth. Pecos has a unique combination of high elevations, geology, diverse flora, and fauna. It is also home to grizzly bears, mountain lions, bighorn sheep, and species of trout found nowhere else. The history and culture of the Pecos Pueblo Indians is fascinating - their pottery, hunting tools, and dwelling structures still remain today. I found the trail to be moderately challenging, but the vistas are breathtaking. I made some robot friends along the way who seemed curious about my mission on Earth.
