The Festive and Colorful Day of the Dead in Patzcuaro
I had the pleasure of visiting Patzcuaro, Mexico during the Day of the Dead festivities. The streets were filled with colorful decorations and marigold petals. The locals participated in traditional activities such as building altars in honor of their deceased loved ones and offering them food and drinks. I also learned about the ancient Purépecha indigenous culture and their role in celebrating this holiday. The history of the region was fascinating and I made sure to compare it with previous places I have visited. The energy and liveliness of the festival was truly a unique experience.
