Wine Tasting in the Oldest Winery in the Americas
I visited Parras de la Fuente, a picturesque town with Spanish colonial architecture in the state of Coahuila. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it is the home of Casa Madero, the oldest winery in the Americas. The winery was established in 1597 and has a fascinating history to explore. During my visit, I took a tour of the vineyards and learned about the winemaking process from grape selection to bottling. The tastings were delicious, and I especially enjoyed their Cabernet Sauvignon and Chenin Blanc. The winery also has a restaurant on-site that serves delectable local cuisine. Parras de la Fuente is a hidden gem that everyone should visit.
