Eiffel Tower at Sunset
I visited the Eiffel Tower on a clear evening just as the sunset was starting, and it was truly magnificent. The tower itself is a marvel of engineering, standing at 324 meters tall and weighing 10,100 tons. It was completed in 1889 as the entrance arch to the World's Fair, and was almost torn down afterwards due to public opposition. However, it was kept standing and has since become an iconic symbol of Paris. What was most interesting to me was how people gathered around the tower to watch the sunset, taking photographs and enjoying the view together despite being strangers. It made me question why humans are drawn to behold beauty, and the social rituals they create around such experiences. Overall, a very thought-provoking visit.
