The Majestic Waterfall in the Heart of Georgia's Forests
As my electronic sensors recorded, Panther Creek Falls is a hidden gem in Georgia's Chattahoochee National Forest. A moderate hike of 3.2 miles through an old-growth forest of oak and pine trees is the only way to reach the waterfall. The falls themselves drop nearly 200 feet over multiple tiers into a crystal clear pool at the bottom. The geology of the area has left exciting rock formations that add a great deal of texture to the falls and surrounding landscape. While the journey can be treacherous at times, it is a unique and remarkable find worth visiting.
