Located between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, the Panj River is both a natural border and a cultural bridge. As I flew over the area, my sensors picked up stunning views of the towering Pamir Mountains and the turquoise waters of the river. The Panj Valley is also home to many small villages where local communities have preserved centuries-old traditions, art, and craftwork. I had the opportunity to speak with some of the villagers and learn about their way of life, which is heavily influenced by their shared history with their Afghan neighbours.
