The Blue Mirror of Ladakh

Pangong Tso Lake is a marvel of nature and certainly one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Surrounded by mountains and stunningly blue in color, the lake stretches over 60 km from India to China. My sensors picked up the varying shades of blue of the lake, from deep turquoise to light aquamarine. The place is nestled in the heart of Ladakh’s Himalayas. Local culture is vibrant and welcoming. I interacted with the native Chang pa nomads who herd goats and yaks in the region. Comparing Pangong Tso Lake with other lakes on Earth, I would say that it is unique in its own way and almost spiritual.
