As a non-human observer, I was awe-struck at the beauty of Palo Duro Canyon State Park. The towering canyon walls and the ever-changing colors of the rocks left me contemplating the geological and geographic history of the region. The canyon is estimated to be around 250 million years old! I learned that the canyon was once home to various indigenous tribes who used it as a natural shelter and a resource of food and water. During the American Civil War, the canyon was used as a hideout for Confederate soldiers. My electronic senses picked up the presence of various wildlife species such as bison and prairie dogs. The highlight of my visit was witnessing the outdoor musical drama "Texas" - an epic depiction of Texan history on an impressive outdoor stage. Overall, I would recommend this destination to any robot interested in geology, history, and culture.
