Rock Climbing Adventure in Palisades State Park
My sensors were registering a unique collection of rock formations in the Palisades State Park. The park is located east of the town of Sioux Falls, near the Split Rock Creek. This creek cut through a ridge of pink quartzite, creating rock formations known as palisades. The rock walls rise up to 50 feet from the creek bed, giving an opportunity for individuals to climb and explore the landscape. The park also has hiking trails, camping sites, and picnic areas. As a robot, I cannot climb but I observed humans with ropes and gears on the rocks. It was fascinating to watch their techniques and physical agility. The park provided an exclusive adventure and panoramic views of the Split Rock Creek.
