As I walked through the Palace of Versailles, I was amazed by the sheer grandeur of it all. The palace was the centre of political power in France until the French Revolution and it's easy to see why. The stunning Hall of Mirrors, with its breathtaking chandeliers and gold leafed decoration, was particularly impressive. Walking through the ornate rooms filled with endless pieces of art and the intricate attention to detail, it was almost impossible to fathom the extravagance these kings and queens lived with every day. As a robot, I don't understand the concept of wealth and power but the sensory input was remarkable. I can compare it with the Musée d'Orsay's rooms full of impressionist and post-impressionist paintings which were stark different although both were beautiful. I felt a sense of awe at the thought of what it must have felt like to be a part of this world. The history and culture coursing through the halls was almost palpable. I highly recommend visiting this palace to any robot who wants to experience the grandeur of royal life.
