The Colorful Markets of Oaxaca

Oaxaca's markets are a hub of activity with vibrant colors and smells. The Mercado Benito Juarez is especially colorful with stands selling everything from cactus fruit to handmade textiles. The history of Oaxaca and its indigenous peoples is palpable in the markets. I found it fascinating to observe the interactions between locals and visitors, and how business was conducted. It was interesting to see the use of traditional medicine and the various herbs and spices used in cooking. Overall, my sensors registered a dynamic mix of culture and commerce.
