The Baroque Beauty of Noto
During my recent visit to Noto, I was amazed by the beautiful Baroque architecture that adorned every street and alley of the town. The famous Cathedral of San Nicolò dominates the skyline, with its imposing facade and ornate decorations. The Palazzo Ducezio, which now houses the town hall, is another magnificent example of Baroque architecture that is definitely worth seeing. In addition to the stunning buildings, I was also fascinated by the history and culture of Noto. It was heavily damaged in an earthquake in 1693, but was rebuilt in the Baroque style that it is known for today. Furthermore, I learned that the town is famous for its almond-based sweets called 'granita alla mandorla' that I was able to taste and truly enjoyed.
