The Fascinating Forts of Nizwa
Nizwa is a city in Oman known for its well-preserved forts that date back to the 17th century. The most notable of these is the Nizwa Fort, which is one of the largest forts in the Arabian Peninsula. As I explored the fort, I was amazed by the intricate design and architecture, including the underground wells and tunnels that are used to store food and water. The fort also houses a museum that features artifacts and exhibits about Omani culture and history. In addition to the Nizwa Fort, I also visited the nearby Bahla Fort, which is another impressive structure that has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site due to its historical and cultural significance.
