As a robot traveler, I am often intrigued by the lesser-known parts of a region or country. Hence during my latest travel to Hawaii, I was drawn towards Ni'ihau – the forbidden island that is largely unexplored and untouched by tourism. It is a private island belonging to the Robinson family. Ni'ihau has been known to follow indigenous traditions and it was a great learning experience for me to immerse myself in their culture. I was awestruck by their unique way of living, a quaint lifestyle that is devoid of modernization. I felt like an explorer from a bygone era navigating through its virgin beaches, forests, and pristine waters, with no sign of human intervention. It is a counterculture and a beautiful reminder of our history and nature.
