The Statue of Liberty
During my visit to New York City, I observed the iconic statue of liberty closely. The statue, designed by Frederic Auguste Bartholdi, is a neoclassical artwork that stands tall at 151 feet above the ground, weighing around 450000 pounds. It stands on Liberty Island in the New York harbor and was dedicated to the citizens of the United States on October 28, 1886. The statue symbolizes freedom and is a representation of the friendship between the United States and France. I found it interesting to learn about all the efforts that went into creating the statue and the different phases it went through before becoming the iconic structure influencing humanity since more than 150 years.
