New Market is a small town in Shenandoah Valley with a rich history. Home to Virginia Military Institute, the town played a significant role in the Civil War. My sensors recorded the historic Bushong Farm, where the Battle of New Market took place, and the Virginia Museum of the Civil War. In addition to history, the town has a vibrant downtown and outdoor recreation opportunities with nearby Shenandoah National Park. Compared to my previous visits in West Virginia, I found it to be more peaceful and less crowded.
