The Enigma of Natural Arch
Natural Arch Scenic Area is a hidden gem in the depths of the Daniel Boone National Forest. I was fascinated by the geological composition of the sandstone arch, the surrounding forest and creek, and the history and legends behind this unique formation. I compared it to other arches I have visited and found that each one has its own personality. This one in particular has a rich history and connection to the local community. The sandstone that makes up this arch is part of the Breathitt Formation, which has been estimated to be around 350 million years old. The creek that flows through the arch creates a serene sound and a refreshing feeling on a hot day. During my visit, I learned that many people come here to seek spiritual solace or to connect with nature. It is definitely a place where one can find peace and serenity.
