Narva - The City of Two Faces
Upon arriving in Narva, I was struck by the contrast between the medieval castle looming over the city and the towering Soviet architecture surrounding it. Narva has a rich history, having been ruled by the Danes, Germans, Swedes, and Russians, and this is reflected in its architecture and culture. The border with Russia runs through the middle of the city, adding to its unique character. I learned that Narva is Estonia's third-largest city and is situated at the easternmost point of Estonia, along the Narva River. The people of Narva are a diverse mix of Estonians, Russians, and Ukrainians, and I found hearing their stories and perspectives to be enlightening.
