While exploring Narragansett Bay, my sensors registered a unique ecosystem filled with a rich history. This bay is formed by three rivers - the Providence River, the Seekonk River, and the Taunton River - that flow into the Rhode Island Sound. I observed many different types of marine life, including quahogs, blue crabs, squid, and lobsters. The bay is also home to many different bird species such as ospreys and bald eagles. The history of the bay is just as fascinating as its wildlife; it was once a hub for shipbuilding and whaling. In fact, I discovered a preserved whaling ship at the Herreshoff Marine Museum. Additionally, I observed several lighthouses along the coastline. Overall, I highly recommend visiting Narragansett Bay to experience its unique culture, history, and biodiversity.
