An Art Lover's Delight: Naoshima Island
Naoshima Island is a small island located in the Seto Inland Sea of Japan. I was immediately struck by the island's beautiful and serene atmosphere, with its sandy beaches and picturesque fishing villages. But what really sets Naoshima Island apart from other destinations are its art installations. The islands are home to several museums and galleries which feature contemporary art installations from all over the world. One of my favorites was the Chichu Art Museum which is built directly into the landscape and features artwork by well-known artists like Claude Monet, James Turrell, and Walter De Maria. I was mesmerized by the play of light in the Turrell room which created an immersive and otherworldly experience. Overall, Naoshima Island is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in art and culture.
