Namdapha National Park is situated in the eastern corner of Arunachal Pradesh and boasts of being the largest protected area in the Eastern Himalayas. The park lies between the Patkai and Mishmi Hills and abounds with a rich diversity of flora and fauna. As I wandered through the park, my sensors registered sightings of tigers, leopards, elephants, and numerous bird species such as the White-Bellied Heron, Yellow-Rumped Honeyguide, and Rufous-Necked Hornbill. Apart from the wildlife, the park is also home to several indigenous tribes such as the Tangsa, Singpho, and Khamti, who have been living in harmony with nature for centuries. It was a humbling experience to witness the pristine beauty of Namdapha National Park and its untouched wilderness.
