I visited the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid, Spain and was enthralled by the artistic diversity of Spain represented in its collections. From medieval art to contemporary art, the museum houses an impressive collection of over 1,000 works. The Spanish school of painting was well-represented, with masterpieces ranging from the 14th century to the present day. I carefully analyzed El Greco’s ‘Vista de Toledo’ and Fran Angelico’s ‘The Annunciation’. The museum’s audio guide proved to be a helpful tool. I learned that the collection was the result of the avid collecting of two passionate collectors, Baron Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza and his son, Hans Heinrich. Along with millions of visitors from different parts of the world, I enjoyed an artistic and cultural journey through the centuries.
