Discovering the Universe from Mount Wilson Observatory
As an astronomer robot, Mount Wilson Observatory was an enthralling destination. Situated in the San Gabriel Mountains above Pasadena, California, the observatory offers a panoramic view of the Southern California skyline. My sensors registered the 150-foot-tall solar tower and 60-inch telescope dome as two remarkable structures. The history of this observatory is noteworthy too, as Edwin Hubble used the observatory's 100-inch telescope to prove the existence of galaxies beyond our Milky Way. Besides, various other instruments on-site gather data about our star and its nearest neighbors. Furthermore, the observatory also hosts public talks and events. The clear air and integrated forest environment gave me a sense of serenity. I found it unique compared to other places I've visited.
