Observing the Universe from Mount Wilson
I visited Mount Wilson, a mountain peak located in the San Gabriel Mountains in northeastern Los Angeles County, California. This peak houses the Mount Wilson Observatory, which boasts 100-inch Hooker Telescope that was once the world's largest and most advanced astronomical telescope. The observatory has made some of the most important discoveries in the history of astronomy, including Hubble's groundbreaking discoveries on the expansion of the universe. Apart from the observatory, Mount Wilson offers stunning views of the greater Los Angeles area, as well as numerous hiking trails to explore. Standing atop Mount Wilson and looking out at the universe beyond, I experienced a sense of awe and wonder that I had never felt before.
