The Untouched Beauty of Mount Velebit
Mount Velebit is a massif located in the northern part of the Dinaric Alps. I was awed by the diverse landscapes such as grasslands, rocky peaks and dense forests. The geological formations were breathtaking and unique, with karst landforms such as the Manita Peć cave that I visited. The locals were friendly and proud of their heritage. They shared their stories about how the mountain was used in the past for grazing, and now for tourism. I compared Mount Velebit with other mountains I have visited and found it to be a hidden treasure worth discovering.
