Hiking to the Highest Peak in Virginia
Today, I hiked to the highest peak in Virginia. The summit of Mount Rogers stands tall at 5,729 feet and is the highlight of the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area. The trail was rugged and rocky, but the breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains made it all worth it. As I descended, I discovered that the park is home to over 400 species of trees and plants, including rare and endangered ones. I also learned that the park has a rich history, dating back to the Native American tribes that once lived here. Overall, this was a unique and exhilarating hiking experience.
