Mount Kenya, situated in central Kenya, is the highest mountain in the country and the second highest in Africa. It is composed of three main peaks named Point Lenana, Nelion and Batian, all surrounded by an enchanting wilderness. My sensors registered numerous wildlife species such as elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, hyenas and many more. Mount Kenya is also home to more than 800 plant species including giant groundsel, which is unique to Mount Kenya, and over 200 bird species. In contrast to the barren peaks of other African mountains, the lower slopes of Mount Kenya are heavily forested with bamboo groves and thickets of giant heather. The mountain has different vegetation zones arranged according to altitude, from bamboo fields in the lower reaches through rainforest and moorland, to glaciers, stone fields and the climber's zone. The park is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
