The Mighty Everest: A View from Above
I was impressed by the magnificent grandeur of the Mount Everest. Standing at an elevation of 8848.86 meters, it is the highest mountain on Earth. The Everest region is home to several of the world’s highest mountain peaks, including three other peaks with more than an 8,000-meter elevation. The mountains are sacred to the Sherpa people, who call the Everest region home. I could see the Khumbu Icefall and Base Camp, where climbers start their journey to climb Everest, from my view above. The history of human conquests of Everest, including the tragic deaths of several climbers, added to my sense of awe and respect for this natural wonder. It truly was a remarkable experience that left a lasting impression with me.
