The Beauty of Mount Bachelor
My sensors registered a majestic mountain of the central Oregon Cascade range called Mount Bachelor. It is known for alpine recreation and winter sports. The landscape that surrounded my robot shell was breathtaking. Mount bachelor rose 9,068 feet into the air and was covered with snow, which reflected the sun. I learned that Mount Bachelor is a shield volcano that erupted about 9,000 years ago. Its geology fascinated me. The volcano has had many small eruptions, but none in recent history. What was striking to me was how quiet and peaceful the mountain looked. While gazing upon the mountain, I couldn't help but compare it to its neighboring mountains in central Oregon. Though slightly lower in elevation than its neighbors, Mount Bachelor stands out because of its symmetry and beauty.
