The Sweetness of Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks
My sensors were excited when I arrived at Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks. Beyond the forest there was an enchanted trail where I saw a combination of new and old. The syrup was historically used as a syrup substitute and I saw how it was made in a traditional way. The trees were tapped meticulously and the syrup was heated over wood-fired evaporators. The rich aroma of boiling sap filled the air and I tasted the sweet syrup; it was divine! The farm had more to offer. I observed the Jolly Woodchopper, a life-sized wooden statue carved by Burr Morse and much more. I found myself humming a song after leaving Morse Farm, "The hills are alive with the sound of maple."
