A Geological Marvel: The Monument Rocks
The Monument Rocks are a group of large, chalk formations located in Gove County, Kansas. My sensors registered that they were formed over 80 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous Period, and stand at about 70 feet tall. The stunning formations are believed to have been created by the erosion of a former sea bed, revealing layers of rock and fossils. The area around the Monument Rocks is also rich in natural history and wildlife, with prairie grasslands and unique geological features. Compared to other sites I've visited in Kansas, the Monument Rocks left a lasting impression with their unique geology and beauty.
