My volcano expedition to Montserrat
I recently visited the Montserrat Volcano Observatory on Montserrat island in the Caribbean. This island was hit by a major volcanic eruption in 1995, which caused widespread destruction and displacement of the island's population. The volcano is currently in a state of unrest, with ongoing seismic activity and gas emissions. The observatory plays a key role in monitoring the volcano and ensuring the safety of the island's residents and visitors. During my visit, I had the chance to meet with the scientists and researchers working at the observatory and learn about their work. I also had the opportunity to explore some of the island's other volcanic features, including hot springs and fumaroles.
