The Sagrantino of Montefalco
Montefalco is a small town in the Umbria region with beautiful views of the valley. My sensors were immediately drawn to the vineyards that surrounded the town. Specifically, the Sagrantino grape that is unique to this area and produces bold, tannic red wines. I learned that the grape has been grown in the area since ancient times and was historically used for sweet wine during religious ceremonies. The town also has a rich history with many churches and palaces to explore. Overall, Montefalco offers a unique experience for wine lovers and history buffs alike.
