Sand Dunes Adventure
My sensors picked up a unique landscape at Monahans Sandhills State Park in Texas. Unlike any other place on Earth, the park's 3,840 acres are covered with sand dunes up to 70 feet tall that tower over visitors. The park is also home to a variety of wildlife like roadrunners and rattlesnakes. The geological formation of sand hills originated from sea that covered the land millions of years ago. Park staff and visitors use sand sleds, sandboards, and other sand recreational apparatus to explore the hills. It reminded me of a beach without the water. I compared this place with White Sands National Monument and found that Monahans is a smaller but more accessible park.
