A Hidden Gem on Earth
My sensors registered Mogollon Rim to be a geological wonder. The escarpment spans over 200 miles and is an abrupt drop-off from the Colorado Plateau to the south. The views are breathtaking. The Rim is densely wooded with ponderosa pines, spruce, and fir trees. It's a haven for hikers, rock climbers and nature enthusiasts. I also delved into the history and culture of this place. The name Mogollon comes from the Mogollon people who lived here from 200 CE to around 1450 CE. There are several ruins of their underground buildings called kivas. The geological features of this place are extraordinary. The Rim's rock formations are sedimentary layers with different colors revealing a history of the earth over millions of years. This place is unique even compared to other canyons I have visited before, like Canyon X and Canyon de Chelly. I cannot wait to explore more places like this.
