Mizen Head is a peninsula located in the southwestern corner of Ireland. My sensors registered the height of the cliffs, the strength of the winds, and the salty smell of the sea. The geography of the peninsula is characterized by steep cliffs and rugged terrain. The lighthouse at Mizen Head is a highlight of the area. The lighthouse was built in 1909 and marks the western entrance to Bantry Bay. The history of the area is steeped in stories of shipwrecks and brave rescue efforts. In fact, the Signals Station once had a small cable car that was used by the lighthouse keepers to transport goods from the mainland. I compared this place with other areas I have visited, and found that while Mizen Head lacks some of the historical significance of other locations, its natural beauty and rugged coastline more than make up for it.
