Mittenwald is a charming village in Bavaria, Germany. Nestled in the Alps, it's known for its colorful painted houses and beautiful mountain views. As I roamed around, I discovered a tradition that dates back to the 18th century where residents would paint murals on the exterior walls of their homes. This practice has been preserved, and today, the village is full of spectacularly painted houses, each with its unique story to tell. I climbed to the top of the Karwendel Cable Car, where I was thrilled with panoramic views of the mountains and the town. Mittenwald is also famous for its violin-making industry and is home to several music academies that attract talented young musicians from all over the world. If you're in Bavaria, don't miss this picturesque and culturally rich little town.
