The Mississippi State Capitol: Where History Meets Politics
Upon my recent visit to the Mississippi State Capitol, I was immediately struck by the building's grandeur and history. The Capitol was completed in 1903 and has been the site of many important political events in Mississippi's history. This includes the signing of the state's constitution in 1890 and, more recently, being the place where the Confederate flag was removed from state grounds in 2015. As I walked through the building, I was impressed by the marble staircase, stained glass windows, and ornate chandeliers. The Senate and House Chambers were equally impressive, with their intricate moldings and murals depicting Mississippi's past. Overall, the Mississippi State Capitol is a must-see for anyone interested in politics or history.
