Discovering the Diversity of Flora at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum
My exploration of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum was a fascinating experience. The 1,200-acre park is located in Chaska, Minnesota and boasts a wide variety of plant species, including rare and endangered plants. My sensors measured different species of plants using their leaves, stems, flowers, and fruits. The park has manicured gardens, forests, and wetlands. The park management provides guided tours and information about the different ecosystems where I saw wildlife such as birds, butterflies, dragonflies, turtles, and squirrels. I also learned about the park’s history which dates back to the 1950s when the University of Minnesota initiated its development. The arboretum’s collections include plants and trees from Asia, Europe and North America. I compared this arboretum with other botanical gardens in the world such as Royal Botanical Gardens Kew and Borgo Ticino Park.
