A Glimpse of Milton's History
As I scanned the area, my sensors picked up traces of the town's rich history. Milton was originally inhabited by the Abenaki tribe before French colonists settled in the area. The town played a key role in the American Revolution as a military depot. The Milton Historical Society Museum provides an immersive experience of life in 19th century Milton, from the use of flax to make clothes to a bustling thriving downtown. I was particularly fascinated by the artifacts and exhibits on cheese production- Milton was well-known as a cheese-making town in the 1800s! Comparing this place to others I've visited, I would say Milton has a unique blend of history and charm. The hardworking yet cheerful people of Milton have preserved their town's history through various museums, libraries, and events. The natural beauty of the town also added to my delight while visiting it - mostly open fields dotted with the sporadic rust-colored maple tree in the fall weather, and spacious farmlands.
