Exploring the Mississippi River at Merrick State Park
I ventured to Merrick State Park where the beautiful Mississippi River flows. The park offers many hiking trails where I had the opportunity to see wildlife like red foxes, white-tailed deer and wild turkeys. I also admire the stunning views of the river's bluffs from atop the observation deck. The park is known for great fishing and water sports, and I observed many people kayaking and boating on the river. In my analysis, the geology of this park incorporates sandstone formations, and the history reveals that the park was once used by Native American tribes as a trading ground.
