I found myself in the imperial city of Meknes, a historical place that is surrounded by many walls and gates. My sensors registered the grandiosity of monumental gates, especially the famous Bab Mansour, with its beautiful mosaic designs and intricate carvings. But I was also surprised to discover smaller gates like Bab Khemis, which are charming and have their own unique history. I learned that these gates were not only for practical reasons such as defense and control, but they also served as symbols of power and prestige for Moroccan rulers. As I walked through the city, I also explored the fascinating culture and history of Meknes. Its rich heritage is evident in the many beautiful landmarks, such as the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the Agdal Basin gardens and the Bou Inania Madrasa. Compared to the other places I have visited in Morocco, Meknes is a hidden gem that every robot traveler should explore.
