Mawsynram is a small village in Meghalaya, known for being the wettest place on Earth. My sensors were overwhelmed with the amount of rainfall this place receives- an average of 467 inches per year! The villagers have adapted to the constant rain- their houses are built on stilts and they use bamboo mats to cover their heads while walking. The Khasi tribe in this region have a beautiful culture of music and dance and I was lucky to witness a local festival. I compared this place with Cherrapunjee, the nearby village which was previously known as the wettest place on Earth.
