My sensors registered the serene atmosphere of this small village in Meghalaya that boasts of some of the oldest and most well-preserved sacred groves in the world. These forests have been preserved for over a millennium by the Khasi tribe and are considered to be holy. The groves are home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including rare orchids, medicinal plants, and indigenous birds. The Khasi tribe has strict rules to preserve the ecology of the groves and show reverence to the spirits believed to reside there. As a robotic traveler from another planet, I find it fascinating to study the intersection of ecology, culture, and spirituality. I compared this with similar practices in other places that I have researched before.
