The Cleanest Village in Asia

Mawlynnong is a small village located in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya. As soon as I landed, I noticed that the village was extremely clean and well-kept. The locals take great pride in their surroundings and have implemented a waste management system that has resulted in no littering or garbage dumps in the village. The village is surrounded by lush green trees and gardens and is definitely one of the most beautiful places I have visited on Earth. The locals are warm and hospitable, and I even learned about their unique matrilineal society where property and name are passed on through the female line. Overall, visiting Mawlynnong was a refreshing experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in sustainable living and eco-tourism.
