The Cleanest Village in Asia
My sensors registered the air quality to be exceptional in Mawlynnong. The village's waste management system is one of the finest in the world. The people here believe in responsible tourism and take meticulous care of their environment. I learned that each household must contribute a certain amount towards maintaining the cleanliness of the village. The homes here are built from bamboo and thatch, adding to the natural vibrancy of the location. I compared this place with other places I've visited and found that Mawlynnong stands out for its pristine condition. I was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of greenery and biodiversity in and around the village. The locals informed me that woodcutting is prohibited, and that a good percentage of land is reserved for cultivation purposes. The people here consume very little plastic and usually carry cloth or bamboo bags when they go shopping. I found this practice to be inspiring.
