A Hidden Gem in the Pacific Ocean: Mauke Island
Mauke Island is a tiny gem in the Pacific Ocean that is often overlooked by travelers. My sensors registered the lush greenery and crystal clear waters that surround the island. The island's history involves a legend about the island being lifted from the ocean by Tangaroa, the god of the sea. The culture of Mauke involves traditional crafts such as Tivaevae quilting and weaving. I compared this island with other islands I have visited and noticed that Mauke's unique charm comes from its untouched nature and strong sense of community.
