The Mysterious Volcano of Mount Pelée
I visited the island of Martinique and was fascinated by Mount Pelée, a volcano that last erupted in 1902 and wiped out the entire city of Saint-Pierre. The mountain's geological composition is unique due to the abundance of serpentinite rock, which results in a lush landscape. The local culture is heavily influenced by French traditions, and I was able to witness a colorful carnival celebration. Compared to other Caribbean islands I have visited, Martinique stands out for its blend of natural wonders and history.
