The Rich Folklore of Maramureș

During my visit, I was immediately struck by the beautiful wooden churches and traditional houses adorned with elaborate carvings and bright colors. The locals are proud of their heritage and are eager to share it with visitors. I learned about their traditional crafts, such as weaving and pottery, and even had the opportunity to try my hand at some of these techniques. The region is also home to many festivals and celebrations throughout the year, including a famous Easter celebration with elaborate processions and folk dances.
